I guess I am used to an epilogue.Overall, an enjoyable read. I turned the page and the book was over - literally. I like any book that makes me want more. I really liked this book and I wanted to know more about the other characters, like Nestor, Danger and how Robert and LaToya got together. While, I enjoyed reading about Kayla and Marley, I was disappointed by the ending - what ending.
Or is there still too much pain from her past. I especially liked that the story deals with a mother and daughters. In Dover, Delaware, Kayla, a divorcee and mother of two, is trying to remain strong and keep men out of her and her girls' lives in hopes that she and her teenaged daughters, Kaitlyn and Kamry, can remain focused. THREE DOORS DOWN is a great book. Reviewed by: Carmen An undeniable spark between Marley, the guy THREE DOORS DOWN, and Kayla turns into a full blown plot with the girls assisting Marley in hopes of gaining a social life themselves. Is Kayla ready to throw in the towel.
It is what it is. I was wanting to like this book, but the more I read the more I knew how things were going to end up and just predictable. Like I absolutely knew that Kaityln was going to have sex with David before I got to that part.but oh well.
Kayla decides she needs to focus on being a mother again and decides there is no room in her life for a relationship.I thought Kayla views on motherhood were typical, but I believe she was too closed minded. Sudler left the story open for a sequel. I really like this story. Her daughters are forced to be a part of her vow to stay away from men, but see an opportunity to change things. Ms. Kayla begins to loosen the reins on her daughters. One mistake causes Kayla to rethink her decision to allow her girls more freedom.
The secondary characters were great they added humor and good advice to the story. Kayla taught her kids right from wrong, but she didn't pass on her wisdom.
The problem is that Kayla has some real issues from her previous relationship that she has refused to deal with. I believe relating to your children is the key to being a well rounded parent.
Marley was a determined, patient and incredibly handsome man, who has be trying to get to know his neighbor Kayla for several month.Kayla has made a vow to stay away from men and she is trying real hard not to fall for Marley even though she's been having erotic dreams about him nightly. Being a single parent, she got caught up in the discipline, but failed to really get to know her girls.
It would be real interesting to read Nester's story. If only they can get their mother to give into her attraction for Marley. With the help of Kayla's best friend Wanda, and the cooperation of Marley the girls are able to get them together.
Because she has kept them so sheltered and removed from social activities, with kids their own ages, one of her girls is not as prepared to face temptation as she thinks she is.
Upon moving, they all take a pact to swear off men, well at least Kayla does and she makes her daughters. If any woman has been through a bad break up, they can definitely relate to this book.
Great read.T. It takes the man three doors down , and the help of the girls, to change this all female family into one that can let a man in.
Michelle Sudler provided a great depiction of what happens when a woman is scorned by her man. Sudler supplies the reader with very believable characters and situations.
Nicole RobinsonAAMBC Reviewers Kayla and her two daughters, Kamry and Kaitlyn, have relocated due to the split from her husband and their father.
Kamry and Kaitlyn have other plans for their lonely mother.
